ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hello, my name is Jason Grove, photographer and resident of Juneau, Alaska. As a native of Colorado born in 1977, my dream was to someday move to Alaska, be a professional photographer, and share my work with others while creating more appreciation for the many awesome things that are all around us!
I currently work full-time for the State of Alaska, Department of Administration, and spend all my free time in the outdoors, making images and enjoying the spectacular scenery and wildlife this incredible region has to offer. I truly strive to make images that speak to the heart of Juneau and Southeast Alaska.
People often ask me "what kind of camera do you use", or say "wow, that must've been a good camera to take that picture." I always tell them the best equipment is the kind that will give you the tools that fit your needs, then simply get out of the way so you can be creative! We photographers like to obsess about our equipment, but the less you have to think about your equipment in the field, the more time you have to be creative. After all, isn't that what it's all about? Being creative, inspiring others, inspiring yourself, all while enjoying and capturing the beauty of the world around us. Sounds pretty cool to me...
Finally, I can't imagine doing anything else that is so much fun, and provides so much satisfaction in sharing and bringing a smile to someone else's face. It's not about me, it's about the place, the moment, and the image as a whole. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for teaching me good values, and encouraging me to follow my dreams. Thanks Mom & Dad!
And Thank You for visiting...
